The Motion Picture & Television Fund’s 46th Annual Heartbeat of Hollywood Golf Classic will be held this year on Monday, June 3, at the Moorpark Country Club and The Saticoy Club. NKSFB presents the event, and the proceeds will go to MPTF’s Wasserman Campus in Woodland Hills. Since 1991, NKSFB has been a proud event sponsor, stepping into the role of Presenting Sponsor in 2008. You can register for the event here.
The Wasserman Campus is a residential retirement community where eligible industry members enjoy a broad range of facilities and activities. With over 45 years of fundraising, the list of items the event proceeds provide is extensive. The event has made everything from vehicles to medical and gym equipment possible. Around the campus, one can find several items marked with the event’s mascot, Robbie the Rabbit. The cafeteria in the main building that houses many residents is called Heartbeat Café and has a large poster of Robbie at the entrance.
Fabled actress Mary Pickford founded MPTF over a century ago. Its mission is to provide the entertainment industry’s freelance workforce with a safety net to navigate the highs and lows of their profession. In 2023 alone, the non-profit provided crucial financial assistance to over 13,00 community members and their families. As the industry continues to face challenges, from economic uncertainty to health crises, the importance of MPTF’s mission grows more apparent.
