Featured Charity – 2024
Each year NKSFB selects a philanthropy to serve as our official charity focus. Throughout the year, partners and employees raise funds for this organization through voluntary payroll deductions and credit card donations as well as participating in events.
After a successful 2023 campaign, in which NKSFB raised nearly $300,000, we’re returning to support the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Founded by entertainer Danny Thomas in 1960, and opened in 1962, St. Jude has pioneered how the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. St. Jude has improved the survival rate of childhood cancer from 20% to 80%. Furthermore, at St. Jude, families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food.

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.
Unlike other hospitals, the majority of St. Jude funding comes from individual contributions. And thanks to generous donors, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food.
In the U.S., 4 out of 5 children survive cancer, but in many countries only 1 out of 5 children diagnosed will survive. By 2030, St. Jude’s goal is to cure at least 60% of children with six of the most common kinds of cancer worldwide.
Every child deserves to live their best life. We can help St. Jude give kids with cancer that chance.
